ATWATER KENT SALES DEMONSTRATION rECORD

THE GOLDEN VOICE

THE GOLDEN MARCH

PRODUCED BY ATWATER KENT AND PRESSED BY COLUMBIA RECORD COMPANY, THE RECORD IS A DEMONSTRATION RECORDING FOR ATWATER KENT DEALERS TO PLAY FOR CUSTOMERS TO SHOW THEM THE "GOLDEN TONE" OF THEIR NEW RADIOS. THE MUSIC, A MARCH CALLED "THE GOLDEN VOICE", WAS COMMISSIONED BY ATWATER KENT AND WRITTEN BY ARTHUR PRYOR WITH MUSICAL DIRECTION BY JOSEF PASTERNAK. SIDE 1 IS A SALES PITCH WITH SHORT DEMONSTRATIONS OF HOW EACH INSTRUMENT WOULD SOUND ON THE NEW LINE OF RADIOS. SIDE 2 IS A FULL VERSION OF THE "THE GOLDEN VOICE" ALONG WITH ANOTHER SALES PITCH. THIS 78 RPM RECORD IS REALLY UNUSUAL BECAUSE IT PLAYS FROM THE CENTER OUT!

ALTHOUGH THE RECORD IS FROM 1930, I THOUGHT I'D BEND THE RULES A LITTLE BECAUSE ITS SUCH AN INTERESTING ITEM FROM THE LARGEST RADIO MANUFACTURER OF THE 1920S.

RADIO FUN

Parker Brothers

Every company wanted to get in on the radio craze that swept the nation.

It was in the cards

Game of Radio by the Radio Games Company in the 20s.

Turnabout Is Fair Play

If the playing card companies can get in on the radio craze, why shouldn't Atwater Kent get into playing cards?
